6/2/22 - This is a rare Springfield Armory Model 1911 issued to the US military during WW1. It is "United States Property" marked, has the proper Springfield Eagle on the right side of the slide, and has flaming bomb military acceptance proofs. It's an early example from 1914, one of the first ~6,000 made. Several small parts do have the Springfield 'S' marked on them, including the slide stop, hammer, safety, mainspring housing, grip safety, trigger and mag catch. Obviously has a Springfield slide and frame as well. Replacement barrel that's marked MP on the side of the lug and P on the underside. Grips and magazine are after-market. The pistol is obviously quite worn and has several patches of pitting. Very little of the original blue remains.
