6/19/19 - This is a scarce German G33/40 Mountain carbine from World War II. This one was built at the Waffenwerke Brunn factory in Czechoslovakia and they are patterned after the Czech VZ 33. It was made in 1940 and maker coded “945" with an early Walnut stock. Many of the G 33/40 carbines were issued to the German “Gebirgstruppen”, or Mountain Infantry, where the metal plate on the left side of the butt was used to keep the stock from harm while using the rifle for assistance in climbing. The rifle is all matching and original with about 90% blue remaining, showing general thinning on the receiver and barrel. Original stock is matching numbered to the receiver with sharp waffenamts on right side and bottom of stock. The stock is fairly nice with just a few dings. The Bore is shiny with strong rifling. Original cleaning rod, sight hood and sling is included. The 1940's were an early, rarer variation and highly sought after by collectors. GI bring back , so no import marks.
