11/20/20 - This is a scarce variation nazi army issued Mauser model 1934. This gun would have been produced just before the factory switched over to HSC production, around 1940-1941. The pistol is proofed on the back left side of the frame with Eagle/655 and a test-fire eagle stamp. There were only about 8,000 of these pistols issued in this way. This pistol comes with a proper 1941-dated, waffenamt holster and two period-correct magazines. This particular gun has retained about 92-93% of its original bluing. There are areas of wear on the front strap, trigger guard, and on the high edges of the slide. Spotty brown patina on the front strap. It has an excellent period-correct grip. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. The action (racking the slide and pulling the trigger) is very tight. Might improve with a cleaning/oil.
