11/26/24 - This is a nice example of a Colt Single Action Army chambered in .45 Long Colt and made in 1885. The revolver has lost most of its original finish but is in excellent shape overall. The action locks up tight and the trigger pull is crisp. The barrel measures out to 7.5". The wood grips are well worn but free of cracks or breaks. The Frame, trigger guard, barrel, and grip have matching serial numbers. We believe the cylinder was replaced and is not numbered. The barrel is correct and stamped "DFC." The bottom of the grip is stamped "2 SC 3." The bore is fairly bright with sharp rifling but there is pitting visible in the lands. The pistol comes with a Type 1 M1881 US Cavalry holster. The holster is structurally sound but the surface is cracked from age.
