SOLD - Scarce Colt 1911A1 - 1941

7/10/18 - This is a scarce Colt M1911A1 from early in the American involvement in World War II.  It was manufactured in 1941, a year which saw only ~34,000 Colt 1911s produced - a full twenty thousand fewer than total Union Switch & Signal production!  The pistol is all original and correct with matching numbered slide and early RS inspector mark.  The finish rates at about 92-94% with various minor areas of thinning on the slide and high edges.  Colt marked barrel with 'S' under lug.  'R' marked magazine.  Bore has good rifling but minor frosting and freckling in the grooves.
