11/28/18 - These 1945 put together guns take a bit of "detective work". Production would have been around February of 1945, just before the Russians took over the Czech factory, or the parts were shipped for final assembly at the Mauser factory. Many of the parts are BYF and SVW marked, (Mauser) while the DOU receiver is Czech. Numbered parts are matching however many part are not numbered (common in the late war era). The bolt is numbered to the gun but my best guess is that the bolt and the stock were re-used left over parts as the bolt is crudely marked and machined, and the stock (which looks all original and correct) looks like it had a marking removed on the left side of butt. The rest of the stock looks pristine, original, yet rough, un-sanded wood. The hand guard and the inside of the stock are both matching numbered to the gun. The butt plate is marked BRG. There is no bayo lug and the cleaning rod hole is filled with a screw. These are all correct LATE war features. The gun comes with an original leather sling. The metal, while roughly machined, comes in near mint condition - most likely exactly what it would have looked like when it left the factory in 1945. Excellent clean bore. No import marks.
