11/16/18 - This is a scarce Zero Series Walther P.38, third variation, with the original matching magazine and grips. Manufactured in early 1940, this pistol is all original and correct, retaining maybe 80-85% high-polish blue. The profile view is mostly nice, with the largest area of finish loss being the right side slide, but the front strap is pretty thin throughout. There is a faint hint of a Russian X on the slide, above the serial. The finish on the gun appears original, so somewhat confusing but certainly could mean it was a Russian capture. There were only ~9,550 of this variation produced, making up less than 1% of WWII P.38 production. All small parts are properly waffen marked. Magazine is correctly numbered on the body, with double E/359 proofs on spine. Bore is minty.
