5/16/17 - This is an original WW2 production U.S. example of an OSS stiletto. The knife comes with the original "pancake flipper" scabbard - a desirable item, especially in this condition. There is some wear and chipping of the OD paint on the wide portion of the scabbard. The leather is all original and in tact, and there is normal wear throughout the scabbard. The checkered blade handle is excellent and sharp. The original "O" ring came attached to this piece, but broke off during our original inspection of the item. We no longer have the rubber "O" ring (price adjusted). We also want to disclose that the top piece/rivet that attaches the leather to the metal "spine" is detached from the leather. This is a minor flaw, and likely happened from someone forcing the blade down on the scabbard. The blade is unmarked, but blued and in great shape. There are two small dots on one side of the blade where this item was hardness tested. We believe due to the style and shape of blade this is a U.S. example, and made by Landers, Frary & Clark (who only made about 10,000 of these). The blade has some browning patina and beginning signs of wear, but this is normal. Overall in great shape!
