8/7/18 - This is an original WW2 Japanese Officer's Samurai Sword. The sword has a factory made blade with a Showa arsenal stamp on the tang. The blade is in excellent condition, but there is some very minor chipping and signs of use or "play" towards the tip of the blade. The sides of the blade has a few very small specks of discoloration wear mostly towards the edge. The tang has normal patina as shown in photos. The handle is excellent and all original with normal signs of aging but the wound cloth is all in tact with no fraying. The mekugi (wooden peg) is in tact and original. The scabbard locks nicely onto the blade and has the original olive paint in tact. There are a few areas of paint loss and normal patina on the belt loops. Guaranteed original from WW2.
