9/5/20 - This is a nice original example of a Remington Rand 1911A1 rig issued to the US military in 1943-44. The left side of the frame has the proper "P" proof and "FJA" inspector initials. There is a military cross-canon cartouche on tang and a "US Army" marking on the right side of the frame. HS barrel. This gun has retained about 85-90% of its original finish. Generally, there is minor thinning in the finish throughout. The thinning is most pronounced on the straps, especially the front strap. There is also very minor muzzle and high edge wear throughout. There are very small dots of brown patina showing through here and there - not very noticeable. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. Excellent original grips. It comes a period-correct magazine and a very nice black leather holster. US-marked on the front. There is some scuffing on the top flap and light cracking in the leather on the front.
