5/3/19 - This is a gorgeous high-polish WW2-era German Commercial Mauser Training Rifle, chambered for .22. The left side of the barrel is marked "Kal. 22 Lang Fur Buchsen". The left side of the receiver is marked "Mauser-Werke A.G. Oberndorf A.N.". The receiver is also marked with "Crown B", "Crown U", and "Crown G" proofs. All numbered parts are matching. No import marks. The finish is a beautiful high polish and appears to be original. As a whole, we would rate the finish on all the metal parts ~90%. Most of the finish loss is on the butt plate. There is also a little bit of wear on the bottom of the barrel straps and the underside of the trigger guard. If we were to rate the barrel and receiver alone, the finish would be ~98%. Most of the wear is around the muzzle. The wood stock is excellent. There are no major chips or scratches, just light dings and hadling marks throughout. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling, 8.5/10. The action is very smooth and the gun is fully functional. The rifle comes with the original leather strap, although it is starting to crack throughout and has gotten relatively brittle. C&R eligible.
