5/7/20 - Original, WWII, U.S. 1942 bayonet made by Wilde Tool. Wilde Tool is the rarest maker of the model 1942 bayonet. Cut down to 10" by "AFH" as indicated by the stamp on the tang. The included scabbard is also a rare piece, as it was made by Detroit Gasket, as evidenced by the "Lazy S" stamp under the flaming bomb ordinance stamp. This rare combination would make a great addition to any collection. The grips are a deep Burgundy color with some black spotting. Very unique. The blade is stamped at the ricasso with the "WT" initials, flaming bomb and dated 1942. Although the "bomb" is somewhat worn. The blade has a small nick in the edge about 1/3 up from the tip. The scabbard has honest wear and shows the fiberglass under the paint. This is your chance to own a rare piece of WWII history.
