4/15/20 - Original, WWII, U.S. Model 1942 bayonet made by Wilde Tool. Wilde Tool is the rarest maker of the model 1942 bayonet. The included scabbard is also a rare piece, as it was made by Detroit Gasket, as evidenced by the "Lazy S" stamp under the flaming bomb ordinance stamp. This rare combination would make a great addition to any collection. The grips show the distinct black rectangle that only WT made bayonets have. The right scale shows a small hairline crack, but it is secure. The 16" blade is stamped at the ricasso with the "WT" initials, flaming bomb and dated 1943. There are a couple nicks in the blade and shows some mild sharpening. This is your chance to own a rare piece of WWII history.
