View Description |
10/17/17 - This is an original, rare Walther PPK pistol made in the year 2000 as a prototype by Walther. This is known as the last "metal gun" made by Walther, as they were testing this model of PPK with slightly longer barrel for use in the United States. The barrel was made slightly longer due to the 1968 gun laws in the US. This was around the time polymer guns were really gaining traction and popularity, so Walther only made a few of these for sample in the U.S. Apparently there are less than 100 of these recent all metal construction Walther PPKs. Walther ultimately decided against making this model because they didn't want three models with two being the PP and PPk, and the third being this "in-between" model. The "AA" proof next to the eagle/N and antlers are what indicate this as a recent year 2000 production pistol. This pistol is in mint condition and has never been fired by the original owner (only firing was the test fire shown on target). The pistol comes with all original accessories including spare magazine, cleaning rod, manual, box, and target. The target and box are both matching serial numbered to the gun. The photos were difficult due to the high polish finish, but there is no wear to note on this piece.
