3/27/17 - These early AC40's have been getting hard to find lately. We have customers looking for them but in the past year I have only found a few available. This gun has the early high polish finish covering about 98-99% of the gun, however may be an old re-blue. It looked all original to me in "gun show lighting" as the springs and other internals are in the white. There are appropriate signs of use and aging in the finish. However when I got it home under bright lights and magnification I could see bluing over top of a few pinpricks in the metal. I will price it as a "restored" finish. It appears to be all matching and original parts with the following exceptions. The magazine is a later Eagle /359 marked magazine and not numbered. The grips are early Walther but also not numbered. Right side is waffen proofed. The hammer is not waffen proofed, nor is the top of the slide cover or the slide release lever. All numbered parts and waffen proofs look to be original and correct. This is not a gun that was re-numbered or re-stamped. Minor frosting in the bore which I would rate a 7 out of 10.
