6/18/20 - This is a unusual US Navy MK 1 fighting knife from unknown origin. We've consulted some experts and we speculate that this was likely made in Australia or Europe. This is due to the "1" in the MK 1 stamp on the blade is a broad arrow (British). We've never seen this before, and the arrow is clearly part of the same stamp, and not just an addition to an exisiting "1" stamp. The finish is also somewhat unusual and due to aging / oxidation the color is almost orange. Very cool looking piece. The edge appears to be "strapped" which was a sharpening technique. The pommel is also flat and more pronounced than typical MK 1 knives. No flaming bomb stamp on the pommel either. Comes in a USN MK 2 scabbard that is in excellent condition.
