4/26/19 - This is an original grouping of an incredible veteran's medals, along with a news article from the NJ Department of Military & Veteran's Affairs as well as the original entitlement awards document issued to him in 1988. The medals include a Purple Heart, a WWII Victory Medal, and a USMC medal. The purple heart is custom engraved and named to Albert Martis. His serial number is 017303 and he served in the Marine Corps. The news article indicates he was shot in the face during a Pacific Islands battle in 1944. Only the Purple Heart is engraved - vets often had their medals custom engraved like this back in WWII - it's our understanding that it wasn't until later wars that the military named Purple Hearts. All original and authentic.
