1/8/18 - Underwood Typewriter Corp. made a relatively small number of M1 carbines for World War II. This one is mid-war and falls in the 2.9 million serial range. Stock has correct cartouche and inspector proof on right side, and is marked P-U (Underwood) in sling cut. Low wood, small barrel band. Correct flip sight is 'S' marked. Excellent bore. Wartime magazine is marked S-0. Wood is in pretty good condition but does show some nicks and dings, which is to be expected on used M1 Carbines. The receiver has a nice parkerized finish but the barrel shows some thinning and patina.
