10/2/19 - This is a nice example of an Underwood M1 Carbine from 1943 that was re-worked following the war, likely for Korea. The finish is original and rates at about 90% with a uniform but natural thinning on the receiver and bayonet lug. Receiver and barrel are Underwood marked, and barrel is dated to November of 1943. Stock and handguard are unmarked aside from circle P on the wrist. Front barrel band is 'IS' marked. Barrel is very shiny with strong rifling, but there is minor pitting in the forward third of the barrel. 'IU' marked magazine. Original sling. Import mark under the barrel.
