9/2/20 - This is an excellent Underwood M1 Carbine that was partially reworked for Korea following World War II, as evidenced by the bayonet lug and adjustable rear sight. Serial dates this one to late in 1943, and barrel is Underwood made with manufacture date of December, 1943. Stock is marked PU in the sling cut. Handguard is marked M-U. Hammer and trigger assembly are marked with the Underwood 'U'. Slide and bolt are also 'U' marked. Bore is mint, and stock is in excellent condition with no defects.
