1/8/21 - This is a super rare Navy G Date Luger, one of only about 700 produced, according to Jan Still's Axis Pistols. This pistol is N property marked and Jan Still states that most of the G Date Lugers were N property marked. It has the correct Type 2 Navy marking on the strap. (A 1935 Navy Eagle acceptance) The gun retains about 85 - 88% of its original finish. There is spotty wear on both straps and minor wear around the muzzle, side plate, and high edges of the frame. It comes with excellent un-numbered grips and a mismatched , period correct magazine. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. Unfortunately the rear toggle is numbered 89 as seen in a photo. AND the front breech toggle as well as the firing pin are not numbered. Likely these are replacement parts. But in spite of the negative issues, this gun is a nice looking collectors piece.
