6/24/20 - This is a very rare Japanese Papa Nambu or Modified Type 1902 that appears to be a private purchase example. It was manufactured by Tokyo Gas & Electric, and there were only ever about 10,000 Papa's ever produced, but Derby & Brown's book on Japanese handguns states there are only about 10 known private purchase TGE examples. They have no Naval proof or markings in general next to the serial number. This one was arsenal refurbished with mismatched numbered parts throughout. Note that the first digit in the serial appears a double strike but not renumbered. The bluing is excellent overall but there are areas of patina/oxidation and some freckling. The grips are in excellent condition but unnumbered, so also likely replaced at some point. Rare, original magazine that is mismatched to the gun. The bore is shiny with strong rifling but does have some pitting throughout. The pistol also comes with a custom fitted case.
