3/1/19 - This is one of the rarest variations of Japanese T14 postols that one can come across. Very late war production gun, made in July of 1945, as the US Army was preparing for the final blow to Imperial Japan. Fewer than 50 examples of this scarce pistol are known and are exceeded in rarity only by the 20.8 date Type 14 Nambu. Made in the last days of war, they were assembled from any available parts on hand at the Toriimstsu Nagoya factory, had very rough machining and finish, and were all mismatched. This gun has all of the above characteristics and is a complete mismatch. It is, however, complete, still has most of its late war finish and is an extremely desirable specimen for a Japanese military collector. We have seen only one other gun with the same date code in over 10 years.
