10/2/19 - This is a terrific example of an early Underwood M1 carbine with rare inspection marking on stock. Underwood production started at serial 1,35x,xxx and this rifle is 1,39x,xxx. The rifle is all original and correct with about 95% of the original finish remaining. The receiver finish is near-mint but there's some thinning on the barrel. The stock is marked 'UEF' over 'GHD' in square, which was only used on early production examples. Flaming bomb is present on the receiver. Circle P on the wrist. Handguard is 'RMC' marked, denoting Rock-Ola manufacture. Barrel is Underwood made and dated to April of 1943. Stock has several dings and scratches in it but no major cracks or chips. 'IU' marked magazine. Original sling. Terrific bore.
