3/26/21 - This is a somewhat scarce SVT-40 sniper rifle with uncommon manufacturer proof, as it was made at the Podolsk Factory Arsenal in 1941. There were only about 12k of these produced at the Podolsk factory, as compared to the hundreds of thousands at the Tula or Izhevsk factories. The gun is in near-mint condition but was likely refurbished at some point. The numbered parts are matching, including stock, receiver, trigger assembly and bolt, which is etched numbering. Hardly any finish loss on the metal parts. Strong rifling with some frost in the grooves. Terrific stock with no notable issues. 1941 dated scope and receiver. Scope has crystal clear optics and includes leather lens caps. Scope could be a postwar reproduction. No import marks. Note that the scope fit on the rifle is pretty tight as you lock it into place, so we have not put the locking pin in place.
