8/12/20 - This is a super rare Mauser Banner Luger that was issued to the German police but later diverted to the military before the order was completed. This variation is documented in Hallock's book on the Luger, and this particular pistol was also shown to Hallock (we will include a printout of the email discussion). You'll notice that this small order of pistols, from serial 602x-1547x, have only two military inspection marks on the receiver. This one, along with most observed examples, is drilled for the sear safety but there is not one installed. The magazine is matching numbered to the pistol in the police style. Hallock's opinion is that this block of Lugers was rejected by the Heerswaffenamt inspector for unknown reason. This particular pistol has some wear on the sideplate, muzzle and right side of barrel. Majority of the finish loss is on the straps though. Excellent bore and grips, which are not marked. Listing includes an unmarked tool, and an excellent 1940 dated holster with Karl Bocker maker mark.
