5/14/18 - This is a Springfield Armory model 1899 Krag rifle with a box of original ammo (10/20 rds), full box of original blanks and two repro manuals. This rifle was manufactured in September of 1900 and features a trap door butt plate with cleaning rod present inside. It has the type IV "headless" cocking piece, which is a less commonly found variant. These knurled and headless pieces were installed on a number of guns as experiments and were rejected by soldiers in favor of the flared cocking piece. The stock is original and in very good condition with minor dings and scratches but no chips or cracks. P cartouche is present on wrist. The finish on the receiver and barrel is thin throughout. Bore is shiny with strong rifling, and shows only minor frosting.
