10/29/19 - This is a Springfield Armory M1 Garand that was produced in 1944, then re-worked by the CMP in the 1950s. The finish on metal parts is original and shows minor but uniform thinning to the color. Serial dates receiver to 1944, but barrel is dated to September of 1953, so was likely replaced by the CMP. The stock was also replaced, and has a CMP cartouche on the left side. It's in fantastic condition with no notable flaws. Bore shows some frost throughout but no corrosion. Sling is present. Muzzle is a 3, throat is less than 1.
