3/26/19 - This is an original 1919 manufactured Springfield 1903 rifle that was converted into a sniper / target rifle with a Winchester A5 scope. Two bolt finger groove stock with a WW2 replacement front handguard. The stock has some "chew" marks or very minor chips / indents in various areas of the wood. The right side of the buttstock is marked "AK 107" (likely a unit stamp). The left side shows a faint "SA" stamp in the wood. The barrel is a high standard field replacement barrel dated 1944. The bore is about 8/10 with some mild roughness but overall strong rifling and fairly clean. The metal is overall in great condition. This rifle was assembled by a collector / enthusiast to resemble the team rifles used between WW1 & WW2 based upon the desirable Marine Corps Sniper that used a Winchester A5 scope. The scope optics are very crisp and clear.
