9/12/19 - This is an all matching and original Gewehr 98 that was produced in 1910 at Spandau, the Prussian State Arsenal. These rifles are very difficult to find in all matching and original configuration, and this is the first we've had in a a couple years. Matching parts include the stock, buttplate, bolt assembly, receiver, trigger assembly and front band. Only the cleaning rod is mismatched. The rifle even comes with an original sling, though it has obviously been torn. While the finish condition may initially seem poor, it's worth noting that the receivers and bolts were never blued on this model. There are some areas of discoloration on the receiver and barrel but no corrosion or major defect. The stock is in fantastic shape with several military inspector markings. The bore is incredibly clean and about as nice as you'll see on this model!
