6/23/21 - This is a nice example of an Astra Model 600 manufactured in 1943. The Astra 600 was developed by Astra in 1943 at the request of the German Army which wanted a smaller version of the Astra 400. The first order constituted about 10,500 waffen proofed pistols, but the Allied landings in France and subsequent battles resulted in the sealing of the border by the French Army, leaving a completed order of 28,000 more pistols stranded and undelivered. This pistol is in the proper serial range for that contract. It comes with a matching-numbered magazine, indicating it was likely issued to a police organization at some point. It is all matching and has retained about 92% of its original finish. There is minor wear around the high edges of the slide and frame, spotty wear around the muzzle, and spotty wear on the front strap. Very minor pin-pricking on the straps. Excellent wood grips. Minty bore.
