SOLD - Scarce Walther P.38 - ac 40

8/8/18 - This is a scarce Walther P.38, marked ac 40 on slide, one of only ~12,000 produced.  This is a lower production total than early zero series Walthers or first-year production Mauser byf 42's.  The original finish on this one is tough to rate, as there is minimal finish loss but browning is showing through the finish all over the pistol.  The pistol is all matching aside from the magazine, which is numbered to a different pistol.  The grips are waffen proofed but not numbered.  Bore has strong rifling with minor frosting throughout.  De-cocker is functioning properly.
