3/20/18 - This is a hard-to-find Walther P.38, marked ac 40 on the slide with 'ac' mark added. There were only 5,700 of this variation produced, made in November of 1940 with the '40' added after the gun was blued. This pistol is in the proper range for this variation, and they often are very worn as nearly all of them saw action. This one was in a flood but the previous owner was able to have the finish restored professionally. This pistol is all matching, including the grips but not the magazine. The magazine is Walther made but not numbered. The action on this one is very good, except the decocker doesn't appear to work fully. The bore has decent rifling but some pitting throughout the grooves. The left grip panel has a scratch in it but it does not go through.
