6/21/19 - This is a very nice example of the hard-to-find Springfield Armory M1911. Made in 1914, this is a first variation pistol features 80-85% original blue with the majority of finish loss found on the slide, especially along the top and rounded portions. Also some edge wear on frame and on the mainspring housing. There were only ~30,000 of these produced from 1914-16. Serial range for these began at 72,570, so this is on the earlier side for the Springfield production. All correct small parts with Springfield flaming bomb or ‘S’ proofs, except for the sear which does not have the 'S' proof mark (not uncommon). It has an original Springfield barrel (S and M marked) with nice bore, showing some frost and use but no major issues. Two-tone magazine with lanyard ring.
