12/17/19 - This is a nice example of perhaps the most desirable Army variation Luger produced by Mauser. Mauser began production on the Luger in 1934, marking these pistols with 'K' date code over the chamber, and producing only about 10,000 such pistols. They saw heavy use, and it can be near-impossible to find all matching and correct examples in this condition. This pistol is a little tough to rate as there isn't much actual bluing loss, mostly just on the sideplate and barrel, but there is patina throughout. The small parts retain 40-50% of the original straw. All matching numbers, including the grips, though faintly marked. The magazine appears to be an original K Date magazine, but was renumbered to match the pistol. 'S' proofs on many of the internal small parts. Bore has nice rifling but freckling in the grooves.
