8/22/19 - This is a rare Spanish Llama Model 1 that was imported by Geco into Germany in 1943. Whittington's book on German pistol estimates only about 1,000 were sold in Germany! What makes this pistol particularly interesting is the "Geco" trademark stamped on the right side of the frame. This indicates that the pistol was marketed in Germany by Gustav Genschow & Co., Hamburg. Like most commercial pistols available in Germany during the war, this pistol would have been sold to a member of the German armed forces or one of the few "approved" German civilians or Nazi Party members. The GC proof on the right side indicates it was originally made for the Spanish Civil Guard, or 'Guardia Civil'. The pistol is all original with 95-97% blue remaining, showing minor edge wear on the slide, and a little bit of finish loss along the top. There are also a few small, thin surface scratches in a couple areas. Minty bore and grips. Original magazine, but note that it is very tight in the gun. So if you plan to shoot this pistol, it's likely you will need a separate magazine.
