1/15/18 - This is a fairly rare Astra Model 900 rig that was manufactured sometime in the early to mid 1930's. The pistol is all matching and original, including the grips which are serial numbered on the interior panels. The Astra 900 was a pistol developed to take advantage of a large Chinese demand for semiauto pistols with shoulder stocks, following the massive sales of the Mauser C96 in that country.  There was a loophole in the international treaty accords that stocked pistols were not considered military arms, so civil war in China had a huge market for arms that this variant was able to meet.  There were only ~21,000 of these pistols produced, and this one falls toward the middle of that range.  Large ring hammer and 1000 meter tangent sight.  Finish is all original but there is thinning throughout the pistol. This is normal aging wear, and most Astra 900s found today are in similar condition. We rate about 50% (conservatively) of the original bluing remaining. The photos are true to condition. The stock and holster appear original but with a couple caveats.  The holster is 1916 dated and Berlin marked, so likely made for a German C96 and exported to the US.  The stock is numbered and matching to the pistol but I don't believe this numbering to be factory original. The bore shows frosting and some minor pits but is decent overall with rifling in tact.
