3/1/19 - This is a scarce Walther P.38, marked ac 40 on slide, one of only ~12,000 produced. This is a lower production total than early zero series Walthers or first-year production Mauser byf 42's. The original finish on this one rates at about 85+%, with the majority of thinning on the front strap. There is also minor pinpricking and oxidation/patina on the slide. The pistol is all matching aside from the magazine, which is numbered to a different pistol but does not appear to be factory numbering. The grips are waffen proofed and matching numbered to the gun. Strong, shiny bore with only minor frost. De-cocker is functioning properly but fairly tight and needs an extra little push.
