8/14/20 - This is an uncommon and interesting Winchester M1 Carbine Sniper rifle from 1944. While there were factory built examples, they fall in specific serial ranges and this rifle is not within those ranges. So, it was likely either assembled at an arsenal after the war, and as the stock has a Springfield Armory proof on it, this may be the most likely explanation. Also possible that it was put together in the field or by an individual that had access to the military parts. The rifle has Winchester receiver and stock. The scope is a Weaver 330 Scope M.8 with crystal clear optics and a cool reticle. Finish was likely re-parkerized when the arsenal reconfigured the rifle. Period original sling. Excellent bore and stock.
