10/27/21 - This is a rare German G33/40 Mountain carbine from World War II. They were only built at the Brno factory in Czechoslovakia and they are patterned after the Czech VZ 33. This is anearly example that was made in 1940 and has 945 factory code on receiver. Many of the G 33/40 carbines were issued to the German “Gebirgstruppen”, or Mountain Infantry, where the metal plate on the left side of the butt was used to keep the stock from harm while using the rifle for assistance in climbing. Everything is correct and matching on the rifle, but the stock was lightly sanded at some point. Serial number and waffenamt on wrist are still visible but they are faint. The bluing on the metal parts is all original but shows some thinning on trigger group and top of receiver. All numbered parts are matching. Excellent, shiny bore. Comes with cleaning rod, sling and sight hood.
