|Year:||1917 - 1930s Rework|
5/5/17 - This is an original WW2 rework of a WW1 production Gewehr rifle. The receiver is stamped with imperial proof markings along with a large crown and "DANZIG 1917" underneath. The right side of the rifle receiver is stamped "S/42K" with early 1930s proof stamps. Some of the parts, like the bolt safety, are not matching in serial number, but this is due to the reworking of the rifle after WW1. The bolt, receiver, and magazine base plate are all matching serial numbered. The rifle is in great shape with no areas of rust or pitting, but there is some surface wear throughout the blued portions of the rifle. The worst wear is on the receiver where most of the bluing is worn. The magazine base plate and barrel are in great shape though with minimal wear. The bore is rated at 5/10 with residue throughout the interior of the bore. This is the original bore though, and could probably clean out nicely. The wooden stock appears unsanded with highlighted imperial proof stamps on the right side. Guaranteed original.
