8/4/17 - This is an original 1903 Remington Sniper rifle used in the second World War. The rifle is in excellent condition, and has been professionally refinished with an 03A3 trigger guard and floor plate. There with no rust or pitting on the metal parts. The parts are all blued except for the bolt, which looks replacement and chromed. The bolt is an original bolt reworked by a gunsmith to provide a turned down handle allowing great clearance for the scope. The receiver is serial numbered 1331108. The stock is a field replacement cut for a 1903 or 03A3. There are no major signs of sanding on the stock. The scope is a Lyman Super Targetspot and in great shape. The scope as manufactured by Lyman from the 1930s until the 1970s and has been used as an alternative by the military. This scope is a commercial version, having no GI markings. The optics are excellent and crisp, but the exterior has some patina and spotting throughout. The bore is very nice, with strong rifling and only minor interior residue. The rifle is all vintage components, assembled by a local collector.
