8/17/18 - This is an original WW2 production Remington 03-A3 rifle, that was later re-arsenaled at Ogden arsenal, then sent to Schenectady New York, where it was made into a rifle for the National Match program, and finally delivered to Letterkenny Ordnance Depot in Chambersburg PA in 1957. We have the original army shipping documents to show that this was delivered from Scenectady NY to Chambersburg PA. We also have page copies citing that a total of 140 '03A3 rifles were assembled by Springfield in 1954 and sent off to Schenectady NY. The rifle also has a rear Lyman sight refered to as part #48S: Used on model 1903A3 national match rifles. Note that the lyman rear sight is stamped "48S 03A3". The stock is stamped by Ogden arsenal but has most likely been sanded and cleaned since then. The post war finish is excellent throughout the rifle, as this was done in 1954 by Springfield. The bore is excellent with only the lightest hint of residue midway down the bore. Some decide that there's no such thing as a National Match 03-A3, but the paperwork included with this rifle is compelling proof otherwise. Guaranteed original and fully functional.
