9/17/19 - Listed here is a rare Walther P.38 with 480 code on frame, and is the earliest such example we've encountered - serial #50! There were only about 7,000 of this variation produced with 480 code on the trigger guard, making it one of the rarest P.38 variations. This particular example took extensive examination on our part. The finish is mint, as is the bore. Both sides of the slide feature the drip rings, and the frame still has prominent machining lines under the grips. However, we believe it is likely a professional restoration as the proofs on the right side slide appear double stamped and the grips are cut or Russian cut, especially the right side panel. Both grips are internally 480 marked but only one is numbered and matching to the pistol. We can't say for certain that it's been refinished but think it's more likely than not, and is priced accordingly. Magazine is correct variation but mismatched to the gun. All small parts have the Walther proof. Good mechanics, including de-cocker.
