3/11/19 - This is a rare and highly desirable Navy Colt 1911, all original and correct, manufactured in 1915. There were only 500 Navy marked and issued Colt 1911s that year. The original blue on this pistol rates at about 80% with the largest area of wear on the straps, but some thinning and browning of the slide. Proper Colt barrel with disconnected 'P H' marking. Excellent, shiny bore. Grips are in terrific condition with only minor handling wear or smoothing. Two-tone magazine. Proper GHS inspector marking on frame by Major Gilbert H. Stewart. Very few pistols have this inspector mark with Navy marked slide. Compare to the recent Jack The Dog auction that went for over $35,000.
