4/25/19 - This is a very rarely encountered Stevens Savage Model 620 trench shotgun, made as a part of US military procurement during WWII. Unlike its M520 counterpart, this was a hammerless model, very much like Winchester M12. It was produced in trench configuration in limited numbers and is very difficult for a collector to acquire. This particular gun is a textbook example, with all the correct military markings, original finish and all original parts including the bayonet lug and heat shield. The condition is outstanding with just a few handling marks on the blue on the right side of the receiver and some thinning of the blue on top of the receiver. The bayonet lug has the correct purple hue to it and is absolutely original. Chambered in 12 gauge, these were lethal in close quarters combat and were used extensively in the pacific campaign during WWII by US marine corps.
