3/10/21 - This is a rare Smith & Wesson Model 13 lightweight revolver that was produced and issued to the US Air Force. About 40,000 were initially produced but only a tiny fraction remain as they were deemed unsafe and most were destroyed by the Air Force. Cylinders would split due to overpowered ammunition being used. The finish shows some obvious wear as it was likely issued and used by the Air Force. Most of the finish loss is on the cylinder and muzzle. Light handling marks throughout. The frame and cylinder are mismatched. The left grip panel is un-numbered. The right one is mismatched. Grip frame is marked 'PROPERTY OF U.S. AIR FORCE', and top of frame is marked 'REVOLVER, LIGHT WEIGHT M13'. Comes with original holster that is also marked USAF. Mint bore.
