8/22/19 - This is a very rare Smith & Wesson ASP chambered In 9mm Para. It is one of 100 sets made in the early 1980s and is complete with an original Quest For Excellence leather bound book box, a custom knife, a logo pin and two extra magazines. The ASP was designed in the 1960s by Paris Theodore, who converted the Smith & Wesson models 39 and 439 into dedicated carry guns by shortening the gun and rounding the edges long before the concept of a carry gun was invented. In addition, the hammer was bobbed, trigger guard thinned on one side and a "Guttersnipe" sighting plane was added for more intuitive shooting. Over 100 modifications were made in total. The grips are simulated black horn with transparent windows which match up with cutouts in the magazine. This special edition ASP is part of the "Quest For Excellence" limited series of which only 100 sets were produced. This is #81 of 100 and remains in near new condition which just a hint of edge wear from being holstered. This set comes with three holsters made specifically for this gun and two magazines in total. Extremely limited edition set that is next to impossible to find. NOTE: THIS LISTING ONLY INCLUDES THE TWO BLACK HOLSTERS NOW - THE BROWN HAS BEEN REMOVED.
