8/28/19 - This is an excellent example of a rare US Military shotgun: the Remington Model 31. The barrel is dated to September of 1941, and the receiver features the flaming bomb ordnance proof and RLB inspectors mark, denoting military issue. While there were almost 190,000 Model 31s produced, fewer than 9,000 were military issued, and they were primarily used for aerial gunnery training. This example is all original and matching with ~95% blue remaining, showing minor areas of finish loss on the barrel and some patina on the receiver. The wood shows minor dings, nicks and scratches. There is a minor surface crack on the left side but it does not appear to go beneath the surface. Excellent bore, and no mechanical issues.
