11/9/17 - This is a rare Party Leader Walther PPK in all original and correct configuration. The pistol has about 95% high-polish blue remaining, with wear on both sides of the muzzle and a spot on the trigger guard. The Party Leader grip is original as well, denoting this rig would have been issued to a highly ranked Political Leader. The grip has a surface crack on both sides, and shows some warping that has caused it to have a little space between the plastic and the frame of the pistol. Along with this, the escutcheon is a bit loose, so we wouldn't recommend taking this grip off very often. The holster has a very faint Eagle logo on the front flap, and is an authentic Party Leader holster. The leahter is in very good condition, and the inner flap is D.R.G.M & AKAH marked. Note that we had this rig listed previously with a more worn holster, so we've swapped in a much nicer one at no additional charge. Rig includes a spare magazine. Pistol has an excellent bore.
The Walther PPK with Party Leader Grips was the "Honor Weapon of the Political Leaders". The Hoheitsabzeichen or High Insignia is the Eagle over Swastika found on either side of the grips where the Walther banner is normally located. The person entitled to wear the honor weapons that were awarded them by the Fuhrer were the Political Leaders of the national, regional and district territories, as well as leaders of local and support units. The persons who wore the honor weapon had their authorizations listed in the district personnel offices, and had to have in their possession a weapons permit issued by the police, which was obtained through official channels. These rare pistols were estimated to number around 3,500, and are widely faked, but this one is guaranteed original.
